Still Around............

Yep, Christmas came and went, we kicked off a "New Year", and I Promise that I am going to be a BETTER BLOGGER!!! Soooo if anyone out there in Bloggerland still follows us, here is a little run down of what we have been up to!!! We have had a fun filled and Blessed "junkin year"!!! As you know from an earlier post, Deidra decided to leave Canton and the business to start a new adventure with her sister....aka her new adventure being "Ruby Ellens" in Hurst Tx. which opened this month.....I am a firm believer that when one door closes another one opens, and thru the new door came my friend Jenny of Faith and Pearl!!! Now she is the baby in our group.....meaning the youngest one aboard, and very talented! Not to say she is cute as a bug and can design jewelry that will knock your socks off......we are so glad to have her with us! Brenda of Whimsy Love, is still designing and sewing her "hippie chic vintage clothing line" that we all love......and my sister-in-law Pam is still "rocking" our booth with her old doors and windows that she tweeks with her own personal graphic designs!!! Sue still blows me away with all of her wonderful finds, and she is the QUEEN of DISPLAYING!!! I still continue to learn so much from her and am so glad she is a "member of our GGJ Gang"!!! As for myself, I am still always on the junkin trail looking for treasures that I can "tweek" and bring to Canton to sell in our booth! My mom still continues to sew the purses and junk bags for our booth, and my hubby aka Mr. Junkin helps me with the furniture, AND in more ways then I can begin to name! I still manage to keep our GGJ Facebook, and am always looking for ways to promote the business, and promise to find more time for our blog! LOL! Between all of this though, I still have time to put on my GiGi hat when my sweet lil grandson is in town and spend as much time as I can with him!!!Lookin back over this past year, I feel so Blessed! The business continues to grow, and I love all of our friends and customers that continue to support us........we all appreciate each and everyone of you, and can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for The Girls Gone Junkin!!!

BBB Award !

O.K....I admit that I have been "slacking" on keeping the blog updated, and I could say how busy I have been, or it is just that crazy time of year, but I won't make excuses cause I know that EVERYBODY is busy this time of year, and there is just not enough time in the day to get everything on our "to do" list done!!! Soooooo I will just go ahead and accept the BBB, BIG BAD BLOGGER Award!!! LOL! Today though, I did manage to get lucky and find sooooo many treasures at an Estate Sale this morning......I for sure was doing the "Happy Dance"! Then had to take my sweet momma for one of those colonoscopy things.....she for SURE was NOT doing the "Happy Dance"! LOL! On a good note though, she got a good report! Tomorrow I will start working "Hard for the money" as I have sooooo much to make, bling and get ready for our next Canton Weekend which is coming waaaaaaay to fast! Once again, we aim to have a booth full of treasures and great gift items for Christmas.......soooooo I hope you are making your list and checking it twice, cause The Girls Gone Junkin will try to have everything "Nice"!!! We do love our customers, and promise to put some "joy" in your "jingle"!

Falling Behind!

Yep....fall is in the air, and it was a beautiful day here in the Lone Star State today with temps in the high 70's! And, yep to the fact that I have been "falling behind" on updating our blog!!! After a crazy, record busy weekend in Canton last week, it took me several days to recoop.....I call it "The Canton Coma", as all I can do for a couple of days is rest and sleep! LOL! We were all soooooo THANKFUL for all of our friends and customers who came out and shopped with us!!!! We sooooo appreciate each and everyone of you! Another bit of news since my last post.........Jenny from Faith and Pearls will be joining our Girls Gone Junkin team starting next month! She is so creative, and makes some awesome,unique jewelry, and we are so happy to have her join us in Canton......she is not only talented, but a sweet and fun young lady to boot!!! Thats about it for now, hope you have had a fun, filled weekend and if you were on the "junkin trail", hope you found lot's and lot's of treasures!!!

I t's time to let the cat out of the bag...I have been waiting to tell this for a while now, but had to make sure everything was a done deal. I have had a dream of always owning my own store, and the opportunity has come. I have left Girls Gone Junkin' and will be opening Ruby Ellen's in Hurst, Tx. (Details for location will come later as progress is made.) I am so excited, that I can hardly stand it! We picked the name because of our grandmothers. Their names were Ruby and Mary Ellen..and they were great friends while growing up. They would be so proud! Hopefully, if things go smoothly, we will be open in December. Cathy will still be Girls Gone Junkin', and still have the same AWESOME booth at Canton...make sure that is on your list to stop by when you are there, you won't be disappointed. I want to thank Cathy for all of the fun, wild, crazy and stressful times that we had....yes, we should have written a journal, because no one would believe the things we have been through and the stories we have to tell. I wish Cathy continued success and happiness, which I know she will do! I also wanted to thank Shelly.....your advice and info. were much needed! Thank you to all of my friends/customers who have supported me for the past 4 and a half years...I will miss each and every one of you, come see me if you are in the area. Last, but not least, thanks to my sisters for believing in me and having faith.....I love all three of you so much and I can't wait to get started on this new adventure. More updates to come! HAPPY HUMP DAY.....

It is another Beautiful fall day here in Texas.....Home of our great baseball team, Our Texas Rangers...I just felt the need to add that! LOL! Between watching the games all week, getting ready for Canton Weekend, and just stayin "a float" with all the other day things in a day, my "stress" level is a "tad" bit on the high side!!! But, I do find that sometimes that makes us work harder, faster and get alot more done.......that is why this post is going to be a little on the short side....not to say I just finished my Starbucks Latte with an extra shot!!! Woo Hoo....my fingers are going to town! LOL! F.Y.I. we are having a "Costume Contest" on our FB..so if you want to have a chance to win one of our favorite burlap junkin bags, just go to the Girls Gone Junkin FB and send us one of your favorite costume pics of when you were growing up....Or....if like me, you are STILL trying to get there...send us one of your Big Girl costumes!!!

Busy, Busy and Busy!

Guess it is time to update our blog, as I can't believe it is still talking about Columbus Day!! LOL! What can I say, except this is a BUSY time of the year....between junkin, making and blinging goodies, a trip to Austin this past weekend to spend time with my sweet grandson, and watching our Texas Rangers make it to the World Series "Woo Hoo".....my world has just been "crazy busy"!! But, I would not have it any other way!!!
