Getcha Junkin On!

WOW! It has been a Busy few weeks since my last post, and since it is a very Rainy day here in Texas, thought it is a great time to catch up!! So thankful this weather did not arrive last weekend during Canton......our weather was beautiful, and we enjoyed seeing so many of you out for a weekend of shopping and fun in the Texas sun! There was only one thing missing, and that was MY VOICE! I sounded like a "squeeky mouse" and it only got worse!!! But after a shot, antibiotics, and some kick booty cough medicine, and lot's of R an R this week, I am starting to get back to my Chatty Cathy self!! We are all busy and gearing up for our upcoming show next Sat. in Waxahachie....Under The Big Top with The Petticoats on the Prairie!!! We are so excited to be in this show and can't wait to meet all the other vendors that will be there! Hope to see some of you come out for the show........after that, we will be back home and getting ready for our next Canton Weekend!!! Our friend from Florida, Karen Ricci Hillman will be paying us a visit and hosting her art retreat "Beauty in Blue"! Thennnnn, after our Canton Weekend, we will be hitting the road on Wed. for a Girls Gone Junkin road trip to Warrenton and the famous Junk Gypsy Ball!!! We are so darn excited, and sure hope we can hook up with some of ya'll that will be partying at the prom!!! Sooooo needless to say, we are all some busy junkin gals! I want to end this post by saying that I am soooooo THANKFUL for this business, and for my friends Sue, Pam, Brenda and the newest member of our gang Jenny of Faith & Pearl!!! All of these gals are so artistic and talented with what they make and contribute to the business, and I could not do it without them!!! The icing on the cake is that they are so much fun to "Hang With" and we all like the same wine! LOL!!! My last SHOUT OUT is to all of you.......because without ya'll, we would not be where we are today........turning junk into treasures and bringing it to ya'll!

PS.....By now, I am sure that all of you know that Deidra left the business in the fall, and I can't seem to take her picture off of our blog......not to sound mean though....plan on having it all revamped in the next few weeks!!

Under The Big Top......

When you were a child, did you ever wonder what it would be like to be in the circus???? I can remember thinking that it would be so much fun and exciting......would I be a girl on the flying trapeze, or walk the tight rope, or maybe help with the animals? I can even remember playing "circus'' with my 2 brothers and other kids in the neighborhood......our tight rope was a 2 x 4, that laid across 2 milk crates.....we would pretend that it was high in the air as we carefully tried to keep our balance while walking across that old, what we thought was a skinny board! lOL! Now, I am happy to say, that I along with my friends Sue, Pam, Brenda and Jenny will be "playing" under The Big Top! Now, we won't be walking on a board pretending to be on a tight rope high in the air, but will be apart of The Petticoats on The Prairie premier Vintage show being held in Waxahachie Tx. on March 17th!!! We are so excited, and hope you will join us in the fun, and come out for a great day of shopping!!!      Hugs and Happy Junkin......Cathy

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY.....
looks like I am batting zero on keeping up our blog, maybe I should just try for once a month! LOL! We are gearing up for a busy Spring in Canton, and are soooo excited to be in the Petticoats on the Prairie show March 17th in Waxahachie!!! After that show, we will have a week before heading back to Canton and sharing the weekend with our friend Karen R. Hillman from Florida for her Beauty in Blue event!!! Our little Junkin world is just full of Love and wonderful people that make our "world go round"!!!

Yee Haw ....for a Road Trip!

Happy Wednesday Blogger friends......We are dusting off our boots and rounding up our petticoats as we are hitting the road to Waxahachie Tx. in March for the Petticoats on The Prairie show! The date is March 17th, and what a better way to kick off the Spring Season but to come out and shop under the Big Top and find lot's of things to take home and "feather your nest"! There will be lot's of Fun, Food and SHOPPING, sooooooo call your "junkin" peeps, and plan a girls get away to Waxahachie! And, if you are wanting a hotel, there are several there with some good rates during that weekend! Will give you more info. as the date gets closer.....hope to see ya'll there!

Still Around............

Yep, Christmas came and went, we kicked off a "New Year", and I Promise that I am going to be a BETTER BLOGGER!!! Soooo if anyone out there in Bloggerland still follows us, here is a little run down of what we have been up to!!! We have had a fun filled and Blessed "junkin year"!!! As you know from an earlier post, Deidra decided to leave Canton and the business to start a new adventure with her sister....aka her new adventure being "Ruby Ellens" in Hurst Tx. which opened this month.....I am a firm believer that when one door closes another one opens, and thru the new door came my friend Jenny of Faith and Pearl!!! Now she is the baby in our group.....meaning the youngest one aboard, and very talented! Not to say she is cute as a bug and can design jewelry that will knock your socks off......we are so glad to have her with us! Brenda of Whimsy Love, is still designing and sewing her "hippie chic vintage clothing line" that we all love......and my sister-in-law Pam is still "rocking" our booth with her old doors and windows that she tweeks with her own personal graphic designs!!! Sue still blows me away with all of her wonderful finds, and she is the QUEEN of DISPLAYING!!! I still continue to learn so much from her and am so glad she is a "member of our GGJ Gang"!!! As for myself, I am still always on the junkin trail looking for treasures that I can "tweek" and bring to Canton to sell in our booth! My mom still continues to sew the purses and junk bags for our booth, and my hubby aka Mr. Junkin helps me with the furniture, AND in more ways then I can begin to name! I still manage to keep our GGJ Facebook, and am always looking for ways to promote the business, and promise to find more time for our blog! LOL! Between all of this though, I still have time to put on my GiGi hat when my sweet lil grandson is in town and spend as much time as I can with him!!!Lookin back over this past year, I feel so Blessed! The business continues to grow, and I love all of our friends and customers that continue to support us........we all appreciate each and everyone of you, and can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for The Girls Gone Junkin!!!

BBB Award !

O.K....I admit that I have been "slacking" on keeping the blog updated, and I could say how busy I have been, or it is just that crazy time of year, but I won't make excuses cause I know that EVERYBODY is busy this time of year, and there is just not enough time in the day to get everything on our "to do" list done!!! Soooooo I will just go ahead and accept the BBB, BIG BAD BLOGGER Award!!! LOL! Today though, I did manage to get lucky and find sooooo many treasures at an Estate Sale this morning......I for sure was doing the "Happy Dance"! Then had to take my sweet momma for one of those colonoscopy things.....she for SURE was NOT doing the "Happy Dance"! LOL! On a good note though, she got a good report! Tomorrow I will start working "Hard for the money" as I have sooooo much to make, bling and get ready for our next Canton Weekend which is coming waaaaaaay to fast! Once again, we aim to have a booth full of treasures and great gift items for Christmas.......soooooo I hope you are making your list and checking it twice, cause The Girls Gone Junkin will try to have everything "Nice"!!! We do love our customers, and promise to put some "joy" in your "jingle"!
