I hope all of you are enjoying the start of our summer.......we are just back from our Busy Canton Weekend and sooooo enjoyed all of you that came out and shopped with us!!! Our business continues to grow and keeps me so busy, that I had decided to give up our Blog when Jenny decided to take over and keep the Blog for all of us!!! I am busy updating our FB each day and between finding new treasures, and making new items that we sale in our booth this will really help me out! We are sooooo Blessed and Thankful for all of you who support what we Love to do and hope you will check out our new Blog and follow us on FB if you don't already!!! GGJ News......

Back from our busy, fun filled Canton weekend and beautiful weather to boot! We so enjoyed seeing all of you who came out to shop with us, and we loved our Beauty in Blue ladies........so glad that the stars were in line for a beautiful event for Karen and the girls, and we can't wait to have them again next spring!!! It is always so special to see "Dreams come True" and that is what happend for the Beauty in Blue ladies!!! After 2 days of rest, we are on the road in the morning for Round Top and The Junk Gypsy Prom....yep, The Girls Gone Junkin are on the road again for some fun and junkin.............we can't wait, and will post pics when we get back home!!!

Fun under The Big Top in Waxahachie!

We are back from a Fun, Filled weekend in Waxahachie where we were part of The Petticoats on The Prairie Show and what a show it was!!! We so enjoyed all of you that came out and shopped with us.....and we are already looking forward to their 2nd show! Now we will all try and rest up for our up-coming Canton weekend in 2 weeks when our friend Karen Ricci Hillman will be hosting her art event...Beauty in Blue at the Whitworth Ranch! They will also be spending some fun time with us in our booth shopping and creating a project as well! After our Canton weekend, we will rest up and then hit the road to Warrenton and Round Top for our 1st Girls Gone Junkin Road Trip....Yee Haw, it's a crazy busy life but I would not have it any other way!

Under The Big Top.......

Well, it is finally here! Our trailers are packed with treasures galore, and we will be on the road tomorrow afternoon to the sweet town of Waxahachie for the much anticipated show with The Petticoats on The Prairie......."UNDER THE BIG TOP"! Not only are we excited about being in the show, but too we can't wait to meet and make new friends who all have the same thing in common......"JUNKIN"! Everyone will be working and setting up their booth tomorrow afternoon and all day Friday, and then we will kick the show off at 5p.m. for early shopping!!! After a fun dinner with the others Fri. night, we will be back Saturday morning for this premier, vintage shopping affair! Here eeee....here eeee...step right up and watch the show, there will be decor.....clothing....and jewelry to go!!!!Hope to see you there.........Hugs and Junkin Luv!!

Happy Sunday to ya....hope you remembered to "Spring Forward" last night! I love this time, but it does take a few days to get used to losing that hour of sleep!!! I know you must be SHOCKED to see new blog updates two days in a row......but, I wanted to share a few pics of our last Canton Weekend!!! We love Canton in the Spring and it is such a great time to come out and go junkin......hope you can plan a trip to see us soon!

Getcha Junkin On!

WOW! It has been a Busy few weeks since my last post, and since it is a very Rainy day here in Texas, thought it is a great time to catch up!! So thankful this weather did not arrive last weekend during Canton......our weather was beautiful, and we enjoyed seeing so many of you out for a weekend of shopping and fun in the Texas sun! There was only one thing missing, and that was MY VOICE! I sounded like a "squeeky mouse" and it only got worse!!! But after a shot, antibiotics, and some kick booty cough medicine, and lot's of R an R this week, I am starting to get back to my Chatty Cathy self!! We are all busy and gearing up for our upcoming show next Sat. in Waxahachie....Under The Big Top with The Petticoats on the Prairie!!! We are so excited to be in this show and can't wait to meet all the other vendors that will be there! Hope to see some of you come out for the show........after that, we will be back home and getting ready for our next Canton Weekend!!! Our friend from Florida, Karen Ricci Hillman will be paying us a visit and hosting her art retreat "Beauty in Blue"! Thennnnn, after our Canton Weekend, we will be hitting the road on Wed. for a Girls Gone Junkin road trip to Warrenton and the famous Junk Gypsy Ball!!! We are so darn excited, and sure hope we can hook up with some of ya'll that will be partying at the prom!!! Sooooo needless to say, we are all some busy junkin gals! I want to end this post by saying that I am soooooo THANKFUL for this business, and for my friends Sue, Pam, Brenda and the newest member of our gang Jenny of Faith & Pearl!!! All of these gals are so artistic and talented with what they make and contribute to the business, and I could not do it without them!!! The icing on the cake is that they are so much fun to "Hang With" and we all like the same wine! LOL!!! My last SHOUT OUT is to all of you.......because without ya'll, we would not be where we are today........turning junk into treasures and bringing it to ya'll!

PS.....By now, I am sure that all of you know that Deidra left the business in the fall, and I can't seem to take her picture off of our blog......not to sound mean though....plan on having it all revamped in the next few weeks!!

Under The Big Top......

When you were a child, did you ever wonder what it would be like to be in the circus???? I can remember thinking that it would be so much fun and exciting......would I be a girl on the flying trapeze, or walk the tight rope, or maybe help with the animals? I can even remember playing "circus'' with my 2 brothers and other kids in the neighborhood......our tight rope was a 2 x 4, that laid across 2 milk crates.....we would pretend that it was high in the air as we carefully tried to keep our balance while walking across that old, what we thought was a skinny board! lOL! Now, I am happy to say, that I along with my friends Sue, Pam, Brenda and Jenny will be "playing" under The Big Top! Now, we won't be walking on a board pretending to be on a tight rope high in the air, but will be apart of The Petticoats on The Prairie premier Vintage show being held in Waxahachie Tx. on March 17th!!! looks like I am batting zero on keeping up our blog, maybe I should just try for once a month! LOL! We are gearing up for a busy Spring in Canton, and are soooo excited to be in the Petticoats on the Prairie show March 17th in Waxahachie!!! After that show, we will have a week before heading back to Canton and sharing the weekend with our friend Karen R. Hillman from Florida for her Beauty in Blue event!!! Our little Junkin world is just full of Love and wonderful people that make our "world go round"!!!

Yee Haw ....for a Road Trip!

Happy Wednesday Blogger friends......We are dusting off our boots and rounding up our petticoats as we are hitting the road to Waxahachie Tx. in March for the Petticoats on The Prairie show! The date is March 17th, and what a better way to kick off the Spring Season but to come out and shop under the Big Top and find lot's of things to take home and "feather your nest"! There will be lot's of Fun, Food and SHOPPING, sooooooo call your "junkin" peeps, and plan a girls get away to Waxahachie! And, if you are wanting a hotel, there are several there with some good rates during that weekend! Will give you more info. as the date gets closer.....hope to see ya'll there!

Still Around............

Yep, Christmas came and went, we kicked off a "New Year", and I Promise that I am going to be a BETTER BLOGGER!!! Soooo if anyone out there in Bloggerland still follows us, here is a little run down of what we have been up to!!! We have had a fun filled and Blessed "junkin year"!!! As you know from an earlier post, Deidra decided to leave Canton and the business to start a new adventure with her sister....aka her new adventure being "Ruby Ellens" in Hurst Tx. which opened this month.....I am a firm believer that when one door closes another one opens, and thru the new door came my friend Jenny of Faith and Pearl!!! Now she is the baby in our group.....meaning the youngest one aboard, and very talented! Not to say she is cute as a bug and can design jewelry that will knock your socks off......we are so glad to have her with us! Brenda of Whimsy Love, is still designing and sewing her "hippie chic vintage clothing line" that we all love......and my sister-in-law Pam is still "rocking" our booth with her old doors and windows that she tweeks with her own personal graphic designs!!! Sue still blows me away with all of her wonderful finds, and she is the QUEEN of DISPLAYING!!! I still continue to learn so much from her and am so glad she is a "member of our GGJ Gang"!!! As for myself, I am still always on the junkin trail looking for treasures that I can "tweek" and bring to Canton to sell in our booth! My mom still continues to sew the purses and junk bags for our booth, and my hubby aka Mr. Junkin helps me with the furniture, AND in more ways then I can begin to name! I still manage to keep our GGJ Facebook, and am always looking for ways to promote the business, and promise to find more time for our blog! LOL! Between all of this though, I still have time to put on my GiGi hat when my sweet lil grandson is in town and spend as much time as I can with him!!!Lookin back over this past year, I feel so Blessed! The business continues to grow, and I love all of our friends and customers that continue to support us........we all appreciate each and everyone of you, and can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for The Girls Gone Junkin!!!

BBB Award !

O.K....I admit that I have been "slacking" on keeping the blog updated, and I could say how busy I have been, or it is just that crazy time of year, but I won't make excuses cause I know that EVERYBODY is busy this time of year, and there is just not enough time in the day to get everything on our "to do" list done!!! Soooooo I will just go ahead and accept the BBB, BIG BAD BLOGGER Award!!! LOL! Today though, I did manage to get lucky and find sooooo many treasures at an Estate Sale this morning......I for sure was doing the "Happy Dance"! Then had to take my sweet momma for one of those colonoscopy things.....she for SURE was NOT doing the "Happy Dance"! LOL! On a good note though, she got a good report! Tomorrow I will start working "Hard for the money" as I have sooooo much to make, bling and get ready for our next Canton Weekend which is coming waaaaaaay to fast! Once again, we aim to have a booth full of treasures and great gift items for Christmas.......soooooo I hope you are making your list and checking it twice, cause The Girls Gone Junkin will try to have everything "Nice"!!! We do love our customers, and promise to put some "joy" in your "jingle"!

Falling Behind!

Yep....fall is in the air, and it was a beautiful day here in the Lone Star State today with temps in the high 70's! And, yep to the fact that I have been "falling behind" on updating our blog!!! After a crazy, record busy weekend in Canton last week, it took me several days to recoop.....I call it "The Canton Coma", as all I can do for a couple of days is rest and sleep! LOL! We were all soooooo THANKFUL for all of our friends and customers who came out and shopped with us!!!! We sooooo appreciate each and everyone of you! Another bit of news since my last post.........Jenny from Faith and Pearls will be joining our Girls Gone Junkin team starting next month! She is so creative, and makes some awesome,unique jewelry, and we are so happy to have her join us in Canton......she is not only talented, but a sweet and fun young lady to boot!!! Thats about it for now, hope you have had a fun, filled weekend and if you were on the "junkin trail", hope you found lot's and lot's of treasures!!!

I t's time to let the cat out of the bag...I have been waiting to tell this for a while now, but had to make sure everything was a done deal. I have had a dream of always owning my own store, and the opportunity has come. I have left Girls Gone Junkin' and will be opening Ruby Ellen's in Hurst, Tx. (Details for location will come later as progress is made.) I am so excited, that I can hardly stand it! We picked the name because of our grandmothers. Their names were Ruby and Mary Ellen..and they were great friends while growing up. They would be so proud! Hopefully, if things go smoothly, we will be open in December. Cathy will still be Girls Gone Junkin', and still have the same AWESOME booth at Canton...make sure that is on your list to stop by when you are there, you won't be disappointed. I want to thank Cathy for all of the fun, wild, crazy and stressful times that we had....yes, we should have written a journal, because no one would believe the things we have been through and the stories we have to tell. I wish Cathy continued success and happiness, which I know she will do! I also wanted to thank Shelly.....your advice and info. were much needed! Thank you to all of my friends/customers who have supported me for the past 4 and a half years...I will miss each and every one of you, come see me if you are in the area. Last, but not least, thanks to my sisters for believing in me and having faith.....I love all three of you so much and I can't wait to get started on this new adventure. More updates to come! HAPPY HUMP DAY.....

It is another Beautiful fall day here in Texas.....Home of our great baseball team, Our Texas Rangers...I just felt the need to add that! LOL! Between watching the games all week, getting ready for Canton Weekend, and just stayin "a float" with all the other day things in a day, my "stress" level is a "tad" bit on the high side!!! But, I do find that sometimes that makes us work harder, faster and get alot more done.......that is why this post is going to be a little on the short side....not to say I just finished my Starbucks Latte with an extra shot!!! Woo Hoo....my fingers are going to town! LOL! F.Y.I. we are having a "Costume Contest" on our FB..so if you want to have a chance to win one of our favorite burlap junkin bags, just go to the Girls Gone Junkin FB and send us one of your favorite costume pics of when you were growing up....Or....if like me, you are STILL trying to get there...send us one of your Big Girl costumes!!!

Busy, Busy and Busy!

Guess it is time to update our blog, as I can't believe it is still talking about Columbus Day!! LOL! What can I say, except this is a BUSY time of the year....between junkin, making and blinging goodies, a trip to Austin this past weekend to spend time with my sweet grandson, and watching our Texas Rangers make it to the World Series "Woo Hoo".....my world has just been "crazy busy"!! But, I would not have it any other way!!! MONDAY...MONDAY.....

HAPPY COLUMBUS DAY ya'll !!! Hope you all enjoyed your weekend, I sure did! I was lucky to find a truck load of junk aka Treasures Sat. as hubby and I hit the "junkin trail" early!! Will take some pics when I can! Then before the much needed rain came through, I started working on getting my porch in a "Fall Mode"......still not finished though! Now, on to clean house and get that "Fall Mode" goin on inside!!! And to top it all off.....our Texas Rangers won game 1!!! Yaaa!

Hope their "Karma" continues .......GO RANGERS!!!
