Today being Memorial Day, I can't help but remember my dad..........I was born in Germany and I guess could be considered an Air Force brat! I was NEVER a brat though......maybe a lil "princess" as I WAS the only girl in my family and only grandaughter on my dad's side for many years! LOL.....I loved growing up in an Air Force family and have soooooo many special memories! So today, I want to thank all who have served our great country and continue to do so! HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY, AND GOD BLESS THE U.S.A.!!

O.K.....I am REALLY trying to be a better blogger, I know I still have alot to learn though! My back is better today sooooo I had to get out and do some good ole junkin! Found some great treasures, but OMG it was soooooo HUMID!!! I think summer time is here!! Due to the fact that I really sweat and do not like humid weather, you will find me with a bandanna in my hair from here until the first frost!! In fact, I think I have a permanent indention in my hair from wearing one so much!!! The things we will do to keep our make up from "streaking"! LOL Like it really matters when it is a 90 degree day with 90% humidity!!! I just LOVE Texas........really I do!! Well guess that is all for now, hope you all have a wonderful weekend.....Happy Junkin! Cathy

I guess Canton weekend, Hico, and then cleaning house and yard work just was a lil too much for this junkin chic'' BABY GOT BACK'' .......that is how I have been the past couple of days.......in other words, baby got down in her back! ! On a good note though.......it has forced me to slow down ( something I have a hard time doing! ) I think I must be one of those type A, B, or C people and might even have a lil case of OCD......ya think? Anyway, I have been on the computer more and decided to check out other blogs and the Etsy site................I have concluded from this that our blog is still in need of some TWEEKING!! I know I am a blond, but I am still trying to figure out how to put someones blog button on ours!!!! OMG, it can't be that hard..........can it? LOL So guess I will conclude with saying that we LOVE to hear from ya and enjoy reading your comments! So PLEASE don't hold it against us for needing the "Blogging book for dummies"!! Happy Junkin.......CATHY

Well, we survived Hico, and I can actually say that I am just about rested up. Cathy and I had a great time there. Mike and Brenda from the Homestead were so nice and it was such a pleasure meeting them. They are two of the nicest people you could ever meet. They were so attentive to all of the vendors needs and made sure that no one wanted for anything. The Homestead store is beautiful! If you have not been there, and you drive thru the small town, be sure and take the time to stop by,,,you won't be disappointed.
We had some of our regular Canton customers make the trip down to see us and got to meet some "new" customers as well.
One of the best parts of the show was getting to stay with Cathy's Aunt Debbie. It was so peaceful at her house. I was lucky enough to have the bedroom that looked out onto their land. WOW! What a wonderful site. Every morning I had to talk myself into getting out of bed. I could just roll over and see the magnificent view. Green grass, rivers, trees, and blue skies...just gorgeous!
Cathy and I sold some great stuff, but have plenty left for our Canton show. One great thing that Cathy has is an antique baby stroller. It is awesome...I did keep joking with her though saying that I was afraid that everytime I looked in it I was going to see Rosemary's baby........haha
It was also great to be able to hang out with Felicia from "Bountiful" and Dennis and his mom Mary from "Ruby Grace's". Fun Times! Till next time.......Deidra

I noticed Cathy had posted yesterday so I will try not to repeat what she said except THANK YOU to all of our customers. Canton was great each day! The weather was beautiful and the customers were amazing!
Cathy has been obsessed lately with "nature" for out booth. I will be driving and she will say "stop" I have to get that tree limb, or let me get out and just grab a few of those flowers." By the
end of the weekend, my SUV had so many leaves, weeds and limbs in it that I could have started my own compost pile! By the time we packed up all of our displays and "nature" displays for our Hico show, we left Canton looking like a bunch of gypsies on the trail!
On another note, we had so much fun Saturday night with our friends Ashlie and Joanie from Sassy's, and Kelli from My Tiara Fits, and all of their friends. It was good to relax and laugh at all of their stories.
Also, last but not least, I had some special friends that came by to see me this weekend. Irene, Cynthia and Janice. It was really great to see each of you and I appreciate you all coming by to check us out.
Gotta get busy...Hico here we come!
