Happy Tuesday blogger friends! We are headed to Canton in the morning and just checked the weather forcast........so excited as the high will be in the mid 80's all four days, with only a 30 to 40% chance of showers!!! That is some good ole Canton Texas shopping weather!!! Sooooo, gather up your junkin sistas and bros. and come on out and give us a visit!!! I have not had the chance to take any pics of some of our goodies, so guess it will just have to be a "MYSTERY"!!! I will not have a chance to post again before we hit the road, so have a safe and fun 4th of July, and GOD BLESS AMERICA !!!!!!!

Back from our hill country and Austin road trip! Ooooh I forget how beautiful the hill country drive is...I just love it! Hubby did some business and we did have time to check out a few places along the way.......in Llano, we stopped at a fun, funky shop called Whimseys! Now, I only had ten minutes to look as the store was about to close.......I did manage to "quickly" run through and found a sweet, old tiara to add to my collection! I do believe my hubby was glad the store was getting ready to close as there were sooooooo many treasures to be discovered! On to Marble Falls, where we spent our first night!

The next morning, we headed to Austin.........along the route I stopped at a GREAT thrift store and spent an hour there.....found some great things and met a sweet lady "Mary" from Dripping Springs who told me about another great place in Austin to check out.......which I did! All I can say, it is a good thing we were not in a truck!! The rest of our trip was spent with our sweet grandson Kyan, mommy and daddy.........I just can't get enough sweet Kyan love!!! We enjoyed our time with him soooooo much, and he had such a fun birthday party! Today back home......now I have 2 days before I am on the road again.......Canton Bound on Wed. and I hear the weather is going to be great!!!!

Yep, it is for sure SUMMER TIME in Texas!!! In fact, a trip to Alaska sounds realllllll good right now! I wonder if they have flea markets or garage sales in that part of the country??? Well, I won't be going to Alaska, but instead will be heading South with my hubby in the morning!!! Now....this is a business trip, but I am REALLY HOPING that we can do some good ole junkin along the way!! He he he........ We will be in Austin Friday and Saturday as my sweet grandbaby is turning "2" and his party is on Saturday!!! Then home on Sunday, packing and getting my goodies ready for Canton and hitting the road again on Wed.!! This time, East Bound for Canton weekend!!! Will try to post some pics before we leave!!!!

Happy Thursday!!!! This week, something VERY EXCITING happened in our lil junkin world.........a new book was released at the Barnes and Noble in New York City, and our "story" of how Deidra and I started our business is in it!!! Over a year ago, a sweet lady from Oklahoma City walked into our booth and started asking me about our Girls Gone Junkin business. It turned out, that she was a writer and at that time was looking for people she thought had an interesting story about starting their business.......little did we know, that ours would be picked to appear among many others in her new book! The book is called....A CUP OF CAPPUCCINO FOR THE ENTREPRENEUR'S SPIRIT.......

For two "girls" from Keller Tx., this is pretty big! LOL The book is full of interesting stories of how women have started their business and "living their dream"!!! Not only are we doing what we love and have a passion for, we are honored to have our story appear in the book! WE ARE SOOOOOO BLESSED! Cathy aka...Girls Gone Junkin

Summer is here!!! Back from our weekend in Canton, and it was for sure HOT!!! The people still came out to shop though, and we do appreciate it!! Thanks to Deidra for bringing the air conditioner that we placed behind the check out counter.....it was for sure a hit and the customers got to catch a lil cool air when they were checking out!!!

Another added item this month was our pink bench........we placed it out front of our booth and it was such a hit!!!! The bench came from a old BBQ place up around Denison and was on Deidra's porch...........several can's of pink paint later, Oooo Lala........it is a great place for customers to take a load off!!

Despite the heat, we had a fun, filled weekend!!! We love and appreciate all of our customers soooooo much!! Will post some pics from our weekend...........and the next time will blog about the book we are in!!! It has been in the works for a couple of years and we are soooooo excited that our story about how we started our "Girls Gone Junkin" business is one of many in the book........details to follow as I HAVE GOT to get off the computer!!! Wellllll, I know it is late, but it is the night before we head out to Canton!!! I just felt like I needed to make a lil post before the Canton weekend!! It has been a busy, busy month......after our last Canton show we headed out to Hico for the Homestead show.......and what a great show it was! If you ever have the chance, you must visit this great little town and check out the Homestead store! It is wonderful!!!

After a few days of rest, I was back out on the "junkin" trail looking for more treasures to bring back to Canton! It has been a fun, junkin month and I have rounded up lots of fun, shabby goodies! Sorry, I have not had time to take pics, but sometimes it keeps the shopping exciting not knowing what you are going to find!! After all, it is the THRILL of THE HUNT when you come out to Canton!!!!

Guess I better get to bed as tomorrow will be here realllllll quick, so pack your ice chest, grab your sun block, dress light and come on out to Canton this weekend for a fun, filled shopping experience!!! And oh yea, don't forget to visit us on Row 46 along with some other great vendors, and we are also realllllll close to the nicest, air conditioned bathrooms!!!!
