Thought I would give all of our blogger junkin friends a quick update before we head out to Canton in the morning!!! We are soooo excited that the weather forcast is for beautiful, sunny, and cooler fall days......we will be staying open later on Friday and Saturday since this is one of our busier weekends......will not close until the last shopper drops..LOL!! We will also be in costume Fri. and Sat. as we LOVE to dress up for Halloween!!!! So hope you are planning to "Trick or Treat" with us for some " Yummy, mummy" fun and shopping!!!

THE GHOULS GONE JUNKIN

Rainy, stormy day makes for a "good" day for a blog update!!!! Deidra is doing great after her emergency gall bladder surgery a few days ago, and is planning on being in Canton!!! I think she is worried about me being in charge of the register and cc machine!! LOL! She was not able to go with me to set up at the Gilded Life event yesterday in Dallas but a big shout out to my sister in law Pam for helping me out!!! She is the one who designs and does the old windows and doors that we sell!!! The Gilded Life is just flat wonderful.......Thanks Shea and Debbie for inviting us to be a part of this wonderful event!!! Ya'll have got to check out their web site and read about the 100 yr. old church in Dallas that they had restored and is now where they live!!! BEAUTIFUL and AMAZING is all I can say!!!!! For me though the most exciting part of the weekend is that our Texas Rangers are on their way to the World Series!!!! Sooooo I will end this post with ................................................

Before I "retire" for the night, thought I would update our blog and try to post some pics from our Hico Show!!! Since our Hico show we have been busy getting ready for another venue that we were invited to set up in.......the group is know as A Gilded Life and it is being held tomorrow night in a 100 yr. old church that has been converted into a house where Shea who is the host for the event lives!!! The church is located in downtown Dallas and from the pics I have seen is quite fabulous!!!! Now for the not so fab news........Deidra was in the E.R. all night and had to have emergency gallbladder surgery today!!! The surgery went well and she is back home tonight, but will not be able to go to the show tomorrow night or Canton next week!!!! Needless to say, I was a little on the STRESSED side today, but the most important thing is she is O.K.!!!! Now you know how we love Halloween, and I will really miss her in Canton next week and the fact that she will not be there to join in the costume attire Sat. Guess I will just be one lone Goul Gone Junkin!!!

Sooooooo, say a prayer that she will have a speedy recovery, and that I will NOT screw up the register to bad next week!!!

Back from a fun, filled weekend in Hico at the Homestead Show!!! The weather was beautiful, and it was so nice to see some of our friends and customers from Canton come out for the show!!! Even Jewel, the singer came out to check out the show and shop!!! That was pretty exciting! Even though I did not get to see her as I was helping a customer when she was in our booth. Our friend Denis from Ruby Grace's was reallllllllllllllllll excited as she purchased a vintage prom dress from him! Be sure and check out his blog for the full story!!!

Hope you have all had a great weekend and were able to get outside and enjoy some beautiful, fall weather!!! Deidra and I have been working since Canton to get ready for our show in Hico Tx. next weekend! Owners Mike and Brenda of the Homestead work hard putting this venue together

and we feel fortunate to be a part of this show, as the vendors are chosen by invitation only!

Some of the other vendors that you may be familiar with are Willows Nest, Shabby Y, and Ruby Grace's!!! These are just a few of the many talented vendors that will be there!!!! No matter what your "junkin" style, there is something there for everyone and the weather is looking beautiful and fall like............Soooooooo, grab your junkin peeps, and head on over to Hico this Friday or Saturday for a fun, filled day of shoppin! When you are shopped out, you can walk over to the Texas famous Koffee Kup restaurant for some good ole home cookin! They say the homemade pies are out of this world!!!! I think after this blog, I need a SNACK...............

A BIG SHOUT OUT to all of you who came out to Canton and paid us a visit this past weekend!!!! We were soooooo busy, but loved every minute of it! In fact, we worked all night Wed. night getting the booth in the fall and Halloween spirit, and we thank-you for all the positive feed back! The weather was BEAUTIFUL and everyone seemed to have a good old time!!!

The most EXCITING thing that happened was Southern Living shooting pics of our booth!! Look for us and a few select others to appear in an article about Canton shopping in the June issue of Southern Living!!! For now, will try to post some pics of our fun, filled weekend...Enjoy, and as always................................HAPPY JUNKIN!!!
