Just dropping in to say two more days and we will be on the road to Canton.....I must admit, that I am a little excited due to not getting to go last month! In fact, I woke up this morning at 4a.m. and started thinking about how I was going to set my furniture up! I think that might be a little OCD! Oh well.......anyway, I have a few pics to share of my bottles I have been blinging and also my bedroom "redo" project. We hope to see all of you in Canton! Happy JUNKIN.....Cathy

TGIF! Deidra, Pam and I have been working all week getting ready for Canton! I don't think I will ever get all the glitter off of me from working on my old bottles! I am sooooo looking forward to some cooler weather this weekend...low 90's sounds great....especially for painting furniture....right Steve? I will try to post some pics of my bottles and other items before we leave...oh yea, also of my bedroom since I redecorated! Happy Friday and always...Happy Junkin! Cathy

TGIM! Thank God It's Monday!

The reason that I am saying that is because school started today! I don't know if it was just me or that my son was just in a bad mood yesterday, but I did not think today would ever get here. I had a great summer with my son up until yesterday....he just griped and moaned all day about going back to school, plus he seems to think that he only needs a Kindergarten thru 6th grade education to get you thru life. Sure! What else could he possible learn? Instead of soaking up the sun or having fun up until the last minute before bed, he just seemed to hang around me and complain all day.
Then this morning, my husband lost his car keys.....needless to say this put him in a bad mood and he was complaining about that while my son was still complaining about having to go to school. We searched all over and tried to think of where the last place we saw his keys and wasted about 30 minutes doing that only to find out later that they were in his pants pocket the whole time, (and not the pants that he had on yesterday, but the pants that he actually had on the whole time we were looking for his keys!?!?!?!?!?) AAAAHHHHHAAHHH!!

Anyway, I have been working hard trying to get some new designs for this months Canton. I know that Cathy and Pam have also been working hard. We should have a full booth for you this month and great things to choose from. I am hoping that this Canton might be the last of the hot weather and that Autumn/Fall will come quickly. Please come by and say hello.

Also if you get a chance to get out to the grounds by the Civic Center try to visit with Juanita, with Southern Serenity, Row 53 spots 2088-2090. She is a member of our blog and is trying the flea market thing for the first time. Check out her website... Sounds like she will have some great shabby stuff to choose from.
Take care and hope to see you soon!

Today was a great Friday!! Deidra and Pam took me to lunch at the Lone Star antique mall tea room for a great lunch and fun conversation! I also got to check out some of my favorite booths there....if you ever have a chance you need to go! Then Pam and I proceeded to hit some of our favorite "junkin" stores looking for undiscovered treasures..and "yes" we did find some! Deidra was not able to join us, but we did think about her with every good find!! Now this was the first big outing that I have had in 8 weeks, so I felt like a bird out of her cage! Boot and all! Then my hubby took me out to dinner at Red Lobster for some yummy fish! Needless to say, my foot is tired and my pants are tight from eating out two meals today....but hey, LIFE IS GREAT! Have a good weekend! Cathy

OMG! Have you ever worked on your blog only to push a wrong button when finished and wonder where it went? Wellllllll, that is what just happened to me, so I will try again! Anyway, Happy Monday! Today I have been trying to catch up on some things around my house as I have been soooooo limited in my cleaning the past few weeks due to my surgery! Now my mom has been a big help, but no one cleans like yourself or myself...whatever! I did not know that so much dust can accumulate on all of my favorite treasures in such a short time! I also during my first few post surgery weeks decided that I would redo my master bedroom....guess I spent to much time in there and it started getting to me! I started by getting rid of our fufu, girly bed and getting a iron king size bed. It is amazing how much more room there is in a king...awwwww! It is a good thing my mom sews because now I needed new bedding! She has already whipped it up and I love it! Then I decided that I needed to declutter...I mean how many old frames can you have on one wall?? I am almost finished and will post some pics later. Sooooo as you see despite being in a recovering mode, the ole decorating wheels have still been turning!! Do they ever stop? Anyway, thats all for now.....Happy Junkin! Cathy

It has been so long since I have been on my blog I hope I remember how! As you know, I am recovering from my foot surgery and did not make it out to Canton last month....I am soooooooooo looking forward to being there this month though! I still have some bad days with the swelling and it is still hard to walk on it but I hope over the next 3 weeks it will continue to improve. I have been able to get in the pool a few times and enjoy just chilling on my float and my sweet grandson Kyan has been here for 10 days up until yesterday. I was sure glad that his daddy was here to help take care of him as he has started walking and is NEVER still!! He sure puts a smile on my face!! In fact, today is sooooo quiet with him not here! I can now start getting ready for Canton.....my mom will be making some new purses this month and I have some great old bottles that I will be "blinging". We will also have our usual shabby furniture and great, fun jewelry items! Well it is time to ice the old foot, so that is all for now...have a great day and "Happy Junkin"....Cathy

It was a very slow month at Canton, but we made it through the heat, the wind, lightning, thunder and the hard rains. We did prepare for the water and put sandbags at the front of our booth, but it did seem to make its way through them. We put our rain boots on and swept the water out as best as we could. Everything did survive and nothing was ruined. We heard that some booths were not as lucky, and were really flooded.

I must say that everyone that made it out to Canton this month are "Real Canton Shoppers". We had a great "buy one get one free" sale on some bobbles...hope that you got to take advantage of that.

It was a little different without Cathy being there. This was her first month to miss in almost 2 years. We missed "our fluffer". She is always busy, busy, busy fluffing, sweeping and picking up the booth to make sure it looks great for all of you that come to visit us. She said that she felt sad not being there with us...but she will be there for our September show.

We are already gearing up for September and we have some new designs in the works, plus we hope to have some Halloween for you. Some of you asked for that already.

Gotta Go for now!
